Montana spring doesn't always behave

As a photographer, few things are as rewarding as capturing the joy and excitement of a family welcoming a new baby. This past week, I had the privilege of photographing the Rogers family in Bozeman, Montana. Originally planned as a spring session, Mother Nature had a different idea. Driving over the pass into Bozeman, I was greeted by over eight inches of fresh snow. Despite the unexpected winter wonderland, the session turned out to be a magical experience.

The Rogers family, unfazed by the weather, quickly adapted their plans. Instead of light spring attire, they donned cozy, stylish outfits that perfectly complemented the snowy backdrop. As the sun began to set, the clouds parted just enough to reveal the breathtaking mountains, creating an idyllic setting for our session.

A growing family

Welcoming their new little girl, who is less than two months old, the Rogers' excitement and love were palpable. The warmth of their smiles and the sparkle in their eyes spoke volumes. It was evident that this family was not only embracing the weather but also the newest member of their family with open hearts.

Their son, in particular, was a bundle of joy. His enthusiasm was infectious as he excitedly recounted seeing elk on the way to our location.
