When Hope reached out looking for a Paradise Valley wedding photographer for her small intimate wedding, she wanted a meaningful, peaceful setting surrounded by mountains. I immediately knew the perfect location — a stunning spot on state land in Pray, Montana, with sweeping views of the snow-capped peaks in Paradise Valley.
We found the perfect spot on state land with sweeping views of snow-capped peaks. Just minutes from their beautiful cabin at Chico Hot Springs and conveniently close to Pray & Emigrant, it felt remote and magical, yet easily accessibly for their small group of 15 closest family and friends.
The days leading up to the wedding were full of excitement.
Hope’s fiancé and his dad had just returned from a two-week hunting trip across Montana, chasing Merriam turkeys as part of their goal for a grand slam. They arrived with wonderful stories, full hearts, and plenty of laughter. Those turkey feathers proudly became part of the boutonnieres — such a special, personal touch.
Getting ready at Chico Hot Springs
in their cozy cabin was rustic and perfect. The cabin was the perfect setting for detail shots, including Hope’s beautiful turquoise earrings and cuff she had custom made just for her wedding day.
Paradise Valley
When it was time for the ceremony, Hope walked up the gentle hill toward her groom with the dramatic Paradise Valley mountains behind her. Their families sat in simple, beautiful chairs as she made her way to him. The ceremony was intimate, deeply emotional, and God-filled. His father officiated with such love and wisdom, and his sister sang a gorgeous southern country love song that echoed across the valley.
Soaking in the Mountains
After the “I do’s,” the afternoon unfolded exactly as it should — slow, joyful, and full of connection. There were long hugs, lots of laughter, happy tears, and time for everyone to simply soak in the moment.
We took family portraits with the mountains as our witness, then the couple slipped away for portraits while everyone got ready for dinner. Photographing these two was effortless. They’re so genuinely in love and completely in awe of the Montana landscape — it made every frame feel honest and alive.
